MAGAZINE DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD ANALYSIS
This is a double page spread feature article taken from Kerrang magazine. I think that the structure and framework is well balanced of text and imagery, as well as a large, bold titled font to show who the band is. The colour scheme is continous and looks aesthetically pleasing to the reader. The large image of the band in focus covers half of the double page spread to emphasize that they are the main feature of the article. The small box in the bottom right hand corner shows that the magazine is targeted at a younger audience because it is quite informal and the fonts are bold and in your face rather than being minimalistic like magazines of a similar genre who target an older market, for example a good magazine comparison would be Q magazine who always have the same minimalistic genre so the audience know what to expect.
MAGAZINE CONTENTS PAGE ANALYSIS
This magazine contents page is from Q magazine, another magazine that supports my target music genre. I prefer this contents page lay out and intend to use it as inspiration for my final product. I think that the enlarged numbers on each image stand out clearly and as this is the main point to a contents page it is effective in directing the audience to different articles. The colour scheme is very similar to NME's and I would not want my magazine to be too identical to the examples I have evaluated, so I know that I will contradict common genre conventions and use a different colour scheme.

SCHOOL EXAMPLE MAGAZINE COVER TEXTUAL ANALYSIS
MAGAZINE FRONT COVER TEXTUAL ANALYSIS
This is Beloit magazine for a college. This is specified under the masthead. The masthead is very clear and bold.
There is no barcode or price on the magazine, insinuating that it is a free magazine for college students.
The image on the front cover is a colour midshot photograph containing a model, whom denotes a student inspecting a glass and links to the sub title ‘Doing Science at Beloit’ as she is clearly carrying out a science experiment. The image has clearly been chosen carefully and appropriately to appeal to the target audience of the magazine (science students).
The photograph covers the whole of the magazine cover, immediately drawing your attention to the model so you can tell what the main feature/article of the magazine will be.
The font and colour of the text is suitable because it is very clear, bold and white against the dark background. It is also a practical font as it is not too fancy or in italics so that its difficult to read.
